Jhal Magsi district is in the centre of Balochistan province of Pakistan.[1]
The district is administratively subdivided into two tehsils Jhal Magsi and Gandawa which contain a total of nine Union Councils.[1]
The population of Jhal Magsi District was estimated to be over 275,000 in 2009. Over 97% of the people of the area are Muslims. Hindus and Sikhs account for 3% of the population. The major Jamote and Baloch tribes in the district are Magsi, chandio, Abro, Lashari and Hathyari village of Machi. Saraiki is the most spoken language.
